The individual assigned will be responsible for the PL of the Business and will attain the organization’s strategic business objectives by providing efficient, relevant, effective and safe warehouse, cargo handling of various products, yard and gate management, depot and transport services within the Company framework and legal compliance.

Run the business of the Company profitably, by managing the day-to-day business of the Company including commercial, operational, financial and technical matters as well as the general administration of the company.

Manage organizational, Stakeholders Management and individual performances and create physical and human capacity.

 Operational efficiency, manage service levels and cost predictability;

Key accountabilities

    General Management

  • Appoint, Develop and Retain team members
  • Lead team in a fast moving commercial environment in accordance with strict deadlines
  • Motivate and develop team. Recognize good performance
  • Set clear performance objectives and apply performance process to manage consistency
  • Identify areas of weakness and arrange for training
  • Being the focal local point for DP World during the construction period


  • Compliance with relevant local laws, regulations and statutes

  • Implementation of DP World Policies and Procedures at Kurdistan Logistics  

  • Adhering to the bye-laws of the company and Board directives and ensure good corporate governance including authority matrix

  • Concessions Contract and all Obligations

    Finance & Administration

  • Plan, Develop and present Financial and other resources around a budgetary framework

  • Ensure financial discipline and controls including accounting and audits.

  • Report actual Performance vs Budgets and address variances

  •  Ensure Budgeted profits are achieved

     Health and Safety & Environment

  • Ensure Compliance with International SHEQ standards

  • Implementation and Management of a management plan to reduce health and safety incidents

  • Implementation and management of environmental management plan

  • Accountable and responsible for providing safety and security in the depot within the predetermined framework

    Business Development / Commercial

  • Ensure that the Business objectives are met

  • Identify business Opportunities, locally and regionally

  • Prepare and submit tenders

  • Conclude contracts/SLA’s, monitor service delivery performance

  • Develop supply chain efficient solutions for customers and deliver excellent service

  • Develop and measure all aspects related to customer relationships

  • Work in partnership with the Stakeholders

  • Maintain and upload the company’s professional image and reputation

    Strategic Input

  • Provide strategic planning and processes and undertake the strategic business development of the facility and its functions

  • Scan market for trends and opportunities, creating a platform for growth

  • Identify trends in customer base and needs, convert them to business opportunities

  • Accountable and responsible for providing depot infrastructures ahead of demand and create depot infrastructure capacity

  • Optimize the supply chain efficiencies in the country

  • Structure the business to achieve business objectives

  • 10-15 Years in transport and cargo handling with 3 years in a Senior Management capacity. Experience in Ports and Rail Logistics Corridors. Knowledge of Labour Law.

  • Minimum qualifications to perform role:  Degree in Transport/Distribution/Logistics/ Business related studies/Bachelor of Business Management / Administration

  • Degree/Diploma in Transport and Logistics with relevant work experience. Advance courses such as MBA, Executive Development Program or Certificate in Port Management and Cargo Handling would be advantageous.

  • Arabic Speaker mandatory


Dubai, UAE :DP World, Ltd. (DP World) alerts job applicants and the public about a fraudulent scheme in which DP World has been impersonated.

The scammers fraudulently:
  • Impersonate DP World;
  • Impersonate DP World employees;
  • Conduct “job interviews” via text message, telephone, e-mail, and/or instant message (including Google Hangout) communications for work-from-home positions;
  • “Hire” employees to join DP World;
  • Provide the “employees” with funds to buy home-office equipment and pay DP World “vendors” via fraudulent checks and money orders; and
  • Instruct the “employees” via e-mail, text message, telephone, or instant message to deposit the checks into their personal bank accounts and wire or cash transfer some portion of the funds to “vendors,” which are actually the scammers.
DP World informs job applicants and the public that:
  • DP World is not expanding its operations in the United States in the next 3-6 months (as the scammers allege);
  • DP World’s operations in the United States are currently limited to Charlotte, North Carolina and are not expanding to any other locations for the foreseeable future;
  • DP World does not solicit potential employees via text message or instant messaging;
  • DP World does not interview employees by text message, e-mail, or instant messaging (including Google Hangouts);
  • DP World does not issue payment to its employees, prospective or otherwise, via paper check or money order;
  • DP World does not require employees to buy their own office equipment or personally pay vendors; and
  • The scammers have fraudulently used the name of DP World and its employees without authority and for malicious purposes.

One of the red flags that distinguishes a false communication from a legitimate DP World communication is the poor grammatical use of the English language, which is apparent in conversations with the scammers. Another red flag is the method of communication as DP World does not use commercially-available e-mail providers. No legitimate DP World communication would come from a common, publicly-available email service like Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail or Microsoft Outlook.

Further, false communications can also be identified by the tasks requested by the scammers. DP World does not request that its employees pay vendors personally, whether from their own funds or from funds provided by DP World. Likewise, DP World would never ask an employee to cash a check or money order and then make a deposit into a vendor’s account.

Contacted individuals should not respond to any communication regarding the scam, and under no circumstances should any individual deposit any checks, money orders, or other payments from the scammers into their bank accounts. If such funds are for some reason deposited, no payments should be made from those funds for at least seven (7) days after the funds are deposited to ensure the individual’s bank has accepted the check, money order, or other payment.
